Somehow, on a whim, I went to Fabulous Fanny's yesterday and found a duplicate of the French vintage glasses that I lost at the Athens airport (while traveling to Kythera) in May of last year.
This is many sorts of amazing. I bought them (a steal at $50), and immediately got lenses from a recommended place in Chinatown, and now have my (old) glasses back, plus an updated contact lenses prescription (almost). This makes me really pleased in that silly cup filled to the brim way.
I'm thankful. If only so many other small things within me were not so lost, still.
RIP, pair no. 1, but now you are with me in my new ones.
Maybe similarly (or not) in the way that Mindy's Peaco left us during their trip in Seattle, and how a new, "other" Peaco (we call him 'Opea' as shorthand for "other Peaco") showed up in the mail from Florida on June 3rd.
